Upcoming Programs for Partners
Legacy Society
The Walters Legacy Society recognizes and honors Partners who have made a commitment to support the Walters Art Museum through their will or other planned gift in their estate plans. The legacy you create is unique, and the Walters is grateful to be a part of it.
The Women’s Committee (1963 –2021)
The Women’s Committee of the Walters Art Museum was established by the Board of Trustees of the Walters Art Museum, Inc., in 1963 with a mission to support and promote the Walters Art Museum. Beginning with 12 determined members, the Committee grew to nearly 100 members at its peak.
For 58 years, the Committee created goodwill for the museum. It supported programs and projects that inspired creativity, learning, and exploration for students and families and encouraged engagement for thousands of museum visitors, both onsite and online. Contributing gifts in excess of $2,000,000 to the Walters, the Committee raised funds that supported the museum’s general operating costs, including bus transportation for more than 75,000 Baltimore City school children visiting the museum, 25 special exhibitions, eight summer camp scholarships, two family festivals, and in 2021, the support of new educational resources such as Classroom Connect and the distribution of 10,000 Art Kits to Baltimore City and Baltimore County families.
Effective June 30, 2021, the Women’s Committee of the Walters Art Museum established the Walters Women’s Committee Legacy Endowment to support the museum’s efforts in perpetuity and ceased operations as an active committee. Funds from the Endowment continue the Women’s Committee’s legacy and longstanding commitment to supporting educational programming and expenses related to special exhibitions at the Walters.
All Women’s Committee Members who were active as of June 30, 2021, are considered Partners of the Walters Art Museum. We thank you for your longstanding commitment to the mission of the museum.

Docents (1975–2025)
For 50 years, the docents of the Walters Art Museum passed their deep knowledge of the museum’s collection, history, and buildings to visitors through tours that encouraged curiosity and thoughtful discussion about the art and objects that the museum stewards.
Docents are considered Partners of the Walters Art Museum. With appreciation, we recognize those who were active or emeritus between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, the final year of the docent program.
