Travel Alert! Please allow extra travel time when you visit. Due to construction in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood, there may be street closures and/or detours near the Walters Art Museum. Parking is available at the lot at Centre and Cathedral Streets.
Cathedral Street is closed between Madison and Monument Street. If you are traveling from points north, please consider following I-83 south to exit 4, St. Paul Street.
A parking lot is conveniently located across the street from the museum at Centre and Cathedral streets. It is staffed by an attendant from LAZ parking. Museum members are eligible for reduced rates and should stop by the Ticketing and Information Desk to get parking tickets validated.
The Walters is located at 600 North Charles Street in Baltimore's historic Mt. Vernon Cultural District, about one mile north of the Inner Harbor and downtown business district. It is conveniently located near the free Charm City Circulator (Purple line), MTA bus lines (Nos. 3, 11, 31, 61, and 64), and the Centre Street Light Rail stop. The main entrance is located on Centre Street near the corner of Centre and Cathedral streets.

Get public transit directions online. The Charm City Circulator is a free bus service in Baltimore. We encourage all of our residents and visitors to use this service—not only is it free, it's efficient. A shuttle arrives every 10 minutes at the designated stops on each route. The Walters Art Museum is along the purple route of the Charm City Circulator. That's stop number 307 on the purple route.
