First Thursdays: Make and Mingle

Thursday, August 7, 2025, 6–7:30 p.m.

Location: Walters Cafe
No registration is required.

Furry friends have provided humans with companionship and mischief for centuries, as seen in our exhibition Paws on Parchment. During this art-making event, visitors can make animal-inspired artwork with an unexpected twist! As a special bonus, there will be two 30-minute tours of the exhibition available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours will gather at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and be led by Lynley Anne Herbert, Robert and Nancy Hall Curator of Rare Books and Manuscripts.

First Thursdays: Make and Mingle is a drop-in program designed for adults to get creative and socialize. We supply all the materials to make art together. A selection of food and drink will be available for purchase, so you can enjoy a glass of wine, coffee, or a snack while you’re crafting. College students can show their student ID for one free cup of coffee. Shop at the Museum Store after you’re done creating and receive a 10% discount on store purchases (20% for supporters).
