Join us in celebrating student creativity at the closing reception of Baltimore, Imagined: Artists from the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women (BLSYW). The reception will begin with remarks by BLSYW art teacher Caroline Cook in the Graham Auditorium before moving to the Sculpture Court to explore the exhibit and enjoy light refreshments.
This annual exhibition, on view May 27–June 4, is curated by BLSYW students and highlights their best work from the 2025–2026 school year. The exhibit features drawings, paintings, and more, including artworks inspired by the Walters collection and Douriean Fletcher: Jewelry of the Afrofuture.
Douriean Fletcher: Jewelry of the Afrofuture is dedicated to jewelry artist Douriean Fletcher, whose work has shaped the cinematic worlds of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther films and Coming 2 America. The exhibition explores the self-taught metalsmith’s jewelry as a powerful narrative tool in art, Black identity, and visual storytelling and spotlights works from the Walters collection that inspired the artist. The exhibition is on view from April 18 to August 9 in our Temporary Exhibition Gallery on Level 1.
Thursday Nights are sponsored by T. Rowe Price.
