Displaying the work of local artists at the Walters Art Museum is an impactful way to bridge the divide between the past and our present. It allows us to engage visitors in new ways by considering contemporary issues and uncovering different stories that can be told by our collection. The Walters is excited to add three contemporary art installations to its galleries this spring, including an impressive collage by mixed-media artist Jackie Milad.
Join Gina Borromeo, Senior Director of Collections & Curatorial Affairs and Senior Curator of Ancient Art, and Jackie for this virtual program as they discuss the collage the artist has created for the museum’s Ancient Egyptian gallery and the impact of placing contemporary works in conversation with ancient objects.
Collection Connections is a series of onsite and virtual behind-the-scenes experiences with the Walters collection exclusively for supporters of the museum. Registration is required as space is limited. Look for additional details about upcoming supporters-only events on our events calendar and in your inbox.
