Day of Giving
Let your generosity bloom! On Thursday, October 8, the Walters Art Museum is celebrating its fifth annual Day of Giving. To commemorate the 92nd birthday of our museum and its conservation lab, the third oldest in the country, we invite you to make a tangible impact on the objects in our collection that need urgent treatment and research.
This year, our conservators are hard at work restoring three beautiful 18th-century Sèvres porcelain vases. These delicate objects showcase incredible craftsmanship and imagination in both form and decoration. All three have suffered damage in the last two centuries and are currently undergoing repair in our conservation lab.

Join Us at the Museum
To celebrate Day of Giving, the Walters is hosting a day of activities at the museum on Thursday, October 8.
- In recognition of the upcoming election, as well as National Voter Education Week (October 5–9), the League of Women Voters will be on hand to provide information and assist with voter registration.
- Vote for your favorite objects in the museum with a special one-day Hearts for Art.
- See the Sèvres vases in the Conservation Window and learn more about conservation at the Walters with conservation highlights throughout the galleries.
- Enjoy happy hour in our Cafe with $5 drink specials from 4–8 p.m., along with a free cookie while supplies last.
- Take part in a lantern art-making activity in the Cafe from 6:30–7:30 p.m.
- Enjoy a 10% discount in the Store all day.
- All cash and online donations made in the museum will be doubled thanks to a generous matching pledge!
