Think about a character or story you want to share. It could be a personal story, a story inspired by existing characters like the Black Panther, or an adventure straight from your imagination! Use panels, speech bubbles, and drawings to create your own comic and bring your story to life.
Douriean Fletcher: Jewelry of the Afrofuture is dedicated to jewelry artist Douriean Fletcher, whose work has shaped the cinematic worlds of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther films and Coming 2 America. The exhibition explores the self-taught metalsmith’s jewelry as a powerful narrative tool in art, Black identity, and visual storytelling and spotlights works from the Walters collection that inspired the artist. The exhibition is on view from April 18 to August 9 in our Temporary Exhibition Gallery on Level 1.
Drop-in Art Making is a program where people of all ages and abilities can get creative and make a work of art inspired by our collection. Come with your family, friends, or on your own. Join us for a little while, or stay the whole time! Little ones (0-5 years old) can enjoy expanded offerings during the first hour of the program.
Drop-in Art Making is made possible thanks to generous support from BGE and The Walters Women’s Committee Legacy Endowment.
