Museum exhibitions would not be possible without curators. Curators select why, where, how artworks go on view in order to create a narrative. At the Walters’ annual Homeschool Day, PreK-2nd grade homeschool students and their families are invited to join us as we step into the shoes of a curator. Together, we’ll discover how curators select and group artworks to tell a story and how we can use those skills to tell a story about ourselves.
This program will consist of group gallery exploration, conversations with a Walters curator, and time to design a gallery of your own. After the guided activities, students and their families are welcome to shop in the Museum Store and Cafè with a 10 percent discount, explore the galleries, and pick up art supplies to sketch together.
Space is limited and available on a first come first serve basis.
