Thursday, January 8, 2026, 4–6 p.m.
Roberto Lugo's Frederick Douglass Food Stamp Jar

Location: Studio B
No registration required.

Teens are invited to paint and decorate a clay pot with beads, gems, and more to commemorate (recall and show respect for) a person of their choosing, taking inspiration from contemporary potter Roberto Lugo‘s Frederick Douglass Food Stamp Jar in Hackerman House at 1 West Mount Vernon Place.

Teen Lab is a space for teens to hang out, create art, and make friends. During this drop-in program, teens participate in creative activities, explore different cultures through art, and check out our galleries. Teens can stop by anytime between 4-6 p.m. to join in. Ages 13-17.

Teen programs at the Walters are supported in part by Lewis Contractors, and Robert E. Meyerhoff and Rheda Becker.
