About the Artist
SOROCHE: From the Quechua surúchi, literally antimony; from the belief that the sickness is due to the presence of the metal in the Andes mountains. In the musical sense, it’s a light headed feeling one gets when consuming the intoxicatingly exotic sonic brew of intercultural wavelengths. Born in DC, based in Baltimore, SOROCHE seeks to transmogrify cumbia, punk, ska, and folk, and everything in between into a danceable alchemy that crosses cultural dance floors.
