This exhibition of 16 books and manuscripts and 2 paintings showcased manuscripts and rare books pertaining to the study, practice, and administration of the law from the 12th to 15th century. The crafting of these manuscripts, their impressive format, and their beautiful illuminations contribute as much as the text to the understanding and the interpretation of the law. Presenting manuscripts never before exhibited in the museum, this focus show introduced the viewer to this exciting field of study.
