Homeschool Programs

SPECIAL Homeschool Workshop

Students (ages 5-12) will tour the special exhibition, The Saint John's Bible: A Modern Vision through Medieval Methods and discover the tools and techniques used by medieval and contemporary scribes, as well as the amazing manuscripts they created! Workshop fee includes a studio experience and a guided tour for adults. Register now because space is limited.

Monthly Homeschool Workshops

Third Thursday of every month, September–May, 1:15–3:30 p.m.
Members: $3 per child, per workshop
Non-members: $6 per child, per workshop
Registration forms must be received by the Friday before the workshop.

Explore the Walters through workshops designed exclusively for homeschool students aged 5–12. Participants enjoy an introduction to the museum, a guided tour, studio activity, and post-visit materials. Register online by clicking on the appropriate session and age group below (or mail in the registration form pdf).

Eight-Week Arts Intensive Workshops for Homeschool Teens

Ages 13-17
Members: $70 per 8-week series, Non-members $100

Want to have interesting conversations about art, learn new techniques, and build your portfolio? During each eight week session, students will explore the galleries and experiment in the studio, making personal connections to the collection and sharpening art-making skills. Each student will brainstorm a theme of their choice and explore this theme in a variety of media, building a small portfolio of related work. At the culmination of each 8-week session, students will hang their own art show in the museum and host a small reception for family and friends.
