Homeschool Programs

Monthly Homeschool Workshops:

Third Thursday of every month, September–May, 1:15–3:30 p.m.
Members: $3 per child, per workshop
Non-members: $6 per child, per workshop
Registration forms must be received by the Friday before the workshop.

Explore the Walters through workshops designed exclusively for homeschool students aged 5–12. Participants enjoy an introduction to the museum, a guided tour, studio activity, and post-visit materials.

Registration for 2008-2009 workshops will begin in August.

Eight-Week Arts Intensive Workshops for Homeschool Teens

Ages 13-17
Members: $70 per 8-week series, Non-members $100
Want to have interesting conversations about art, learn new techniques, and build your portfolio? During each eight week session, students will explore the galleries and experiment in the studio, making personal connections to the collection and sharpening art-making skills. Each student will brainstorm a theme of their choice and explore this theme in a variety of media, building a small portfolio of related work. At the culmination of each 8-week session, students will hang their own art show in the museum and host a small reception for family and friends.

Fall Series: Wednesdays, September 24th –October 15th 2008, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
Winter Series: Wednesdays, January 7th – February 25th, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
