Homeschool Workshop: Sculpture: Ceramics Ages 13-16

How old are the oldest pots from ancient Greece? Why don’t Japanese tea cups have handles? Where does porcelain come from? In this sculpture workshop students will discover the science and history of ceramics in the Walters’ collection and will use clay to create their own three-dimensional work of art.

Explore the Walters through this workshop designed exclusively for homeschool students ages 5-16. Participants enjoy an introduction to the museum, a guided tour, studio activity and post-visit materials.

The Art of Wealth: The Huntingtons in the Gilded Age

Sponsored by the Boshell Foundation. This Gilded Age Talk celebrates the new installation, From Rye to Raphael: The Walters Story. A book signing follows. Copies will be available for purchase in the Walters’ Museum Store.
