The Walters has a world class jewelry collection and one of its most spectacular examples is the 2nd c. BCE Olbia bracelet. It is made of gold and is embellished with precious stones, pearls, and enamel. This bracelet was lent to the Pearls exhibition in Qatar on the Persian Gulf and has recently returned. The conservator will discuss the role of conservation in such loans and also show other examples of spectacular jewelry currently in the laboratory.
