FREE Renaissance Family Festival

Lords and Ladies! Join the ranks of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci & the Medici family as you travel back in time to the Renaissance! Enter our palace and explore a world of new inventions, discoveries, sounds and ideas. Frolic with Renaissance musicians and dancers! Dress up and step into a gilded frame to become a painting and work collaboratively to perfect perspective! Create artistic masterpieces of your own all day!  Plus, visit the special exhibition, Revealing the African Presence in Renaissance Europe, for FREE today!

Special guests will use dance, music and storytelling to immerse you in the world of the past! Visit the special exhibition for FREE today, and celebrate the work of middle school students from Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County Public Schools, whose artwork is part of African Presence: Student Response.


10 A.M. - Maryland Middle School students celebrating African Presence: Student Response, Graham Auditorium, Lower Level
11 A.M. - Renaissance Revelers performing Roaming Renaissance Music, throughout the museum
11 A.M. - Leonardo da Vinci strolling through the museum
12 P.M. - Shakespeare on Screen, Graham Auditorium, Lower Level
1:30 P.M. - Hesperus performing Music & Instruments of Robin Hood’s Time, Graham Auditorium, Lower Level
3 P.M. - GRAND FINALE: Choregraphie Antique performing Renaissance Dances, Sculpture Court, Level 2A


10 A.M.-4 P.M. - Renaissance Rooms & Inside the Boat, Studios A & B, Family Art Center, Lower Level
10 A.M.-3 P.M. - Build Your Own da Vinci Flying Machine, Level 2 Lobby
10 A.M.-3 P.M. - Exploring & Depicting the Renaissance World, Sculpture Court, Level 2A, inlcuding: Glowing Globes!, Build a Telescope with Galileo, a Stargazing Tent, Perspective station, Step into the Frame dress-up and picture station, Still-life Feast, Color a Woodblock Kitchen, and the St. Francis Neighborhood Center showcasing Renaissance Kids: Global Community Portraits
