Conservation Secrets Homeschool Workshop Ages 10-12

How do museum conservators preserve paintings, sculptures, and manuscripts created centuries ago? How can conservation science help determine the authenticity of a work of art?  Explore the techniques that conservators use to preserve, repair, and study museum objects. Decipher clues and discover the secrets revealed by conservators. In this workshop students will learn how science and technology contribute to our understanding of history through art.

Explore the Walters through this workshop designed exclusively for homeschool students ages 5–12. Participants enjoy an introduction to the museum, a guided tour, studio activity, and post-visit materials.

Pre-registration is required. When enrolling online, please include your participating student’s name and age.

Museum members can register early for this popular series beginning August 4! Non-member registration will become available August 11.
