Led by artist Josh Berer and inspired by Pearls on a String: Artists, Patrons, and Poets at the Great Islamic Courts, the first installment of this three-part workshop series explores traditional paper marbling techniques and block printing of geometric patterns. Participants will learn to float paints on water, manipulate the patterns, and transfer the designs to paper. They will then hand-cut patterns into a printing block and use the marbled paper to pull prints.
