Gallery Talk: Portrait of a Wealthy African

The painting Portrait of a Wealthy African was a star of the recent groundbreaking exhibition Revealing the African Presence in Renaissance Europe.   This portrait, on loan from a private collection, shows an unknown sitter of high status. Please join Dr. Joaneath Spicer, curator of Renaissance and Baroque Art, as she takes you into the galleries for an intimate conversation about this pivotal portrait in the context of the Walters’ permanent collection.

Meet at 5:45 p.m. in the Centre Street Lobby.
