Drop-in Art Activities: Summer in Japan

Join us in June as we create artwork inspired by a summer day in Japan.  Imagine you are wearing a light cotton kimono and listening to the song of cicadas as you create tiny animal sculptures, samurai sword guards, colorful sashes and fantastic sea monsters.

Every Saturday and Sunday! No registration required – drop-in, make, and take a fantastic piece of art home with you!

Join museum educators as they help families create artistic projects related to the collection and special exhibitions. Check out our monthly themes and visit often to participate in a different project each weekend!

Collecting Histories and Collecting Mysteries: Great Art Collectors of America's Gilded Age

Inge Reist will bring alive the personalities of Gilded Age collectors as they formed some of America’s most dazzling and admired collections. Her talk will also explore their motivations and methods of acquisition, as well as their philanthropic legacies. Reist is Director of the Center for the History of Collecting at the Frick Collection and Frick Art Reference Library.
