Walk, Wonder, & Create Tour: Travel the Zodiac 11AM

Travel the Chinese Zodiac in search of feathered, scaly and furry animals! Become sneaky detectives, using your eyes to look far and wide to spot all of our animal friends.   Explore the museum’s Asian art collection to learn about the traditions of the Chinese New Year from each rat, dog and rooster we meet. We’ll end our tour in the studios, creating Sneaky Slithering Snakes in honor of the Year of the Snake.

Recommended for ages 6-8. One guardian per two children required.

Graduated from our pre-k program?  Join the big kids and their adults for our popular Walk, Wonder, and Create family tours! For ages 6 and up, this once-a-month 45-minute experience allows families to enjoy an interactive tour of the Walters’ collection, and then create artwork that relates to the theme of the tour.

Please note: Online pre-registration required. Spring 2013 (February-July) Program registration will be available in January: January 2 - Member registration begins; January 9 - Public registration begins. Museum members can register early for this popular series!

New Eyes on America: The Genius of Richard Caton Woodville

Painter of iconic works of American genre, Richard Caton Woodville (1825–55) led a life of paradox. His humorous characterizations of life, realistic depictions of interiors and use of narrative detail give access to a fascinating period of American and European history.
