Ancient Roots of Holiday Music

The “Twelve Days of Christmas” is rooted in ancient Egypt’s twelve day mid-winter festival celebrating the earthly king Horus’ birth, with one day’s celebration for each month in their calendar. Honoring traditions linked to antiquity across world cultures, religions and time, our musicians will perform Medieval, Victorian, and modern Christian, Jewish and other world musical traditions.
