Drop-in Art Activities: ¡Animales!

Let’s look for ¡animales! In March we will make artistic animals, from the ferocious to the familiar!  Choose your animal guide inspired by the folklore of the Ancient Americas, then experiment with clay, precious metals, yarn and more to create your own treasures! Be sure to visit the special exhibition, Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas: The John Bourne Collection Gift, to look for animals in art.

Every Saturday and Sunday! No registration required – drop-in, make, and take a fantastic piece of art home with you!

Join museum educators as they help families create artful projects related to the collection, special exhibitions, and family programs. Check out our monthly themes and visit often to participate in a different project each weekend!

Threshold to the Sacred: The Ark Door of Cairo's Ben Ezra Synagogue

New Eyes on America: The Genius of Richard Caton Woodville

Painter of iconic works of American genre, Richard Caton Woodville (1825–55) led a life of paradox. His humorous characterizations of life, realistic depictions of interiors and use of narrative detail give access to a fascinating period of American and European history.
