FREE Sculpture Court

This Peabody on the Court Music Series concert of chamber music will feature cellists from the studio of Alison Wells, a founding member of the British-based Pirasti Trio. This dynamic series of Free First Friday noon concerts on the Walters' Sculpture Court continues a partnership with the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University which dates from the 1960s. This is the second to last performance of the Spring 2013 season. The final performance will take place on May 3.

Collecting Histories and Collecting Mysteries: Great Art Collectors of America's Gilded Age

Inge Reist will bring alive the personalities of Gilded Age collectors as they formed some of America’s most dazzling and admired collections. Her talk will also explore their motivations and methods of acquisition, as well as their philanthropic legacies. Reist is Director of the Center for the History of Collecting at the Frick Collection and Frick Art Reference Library.
