Walk, Wonder, & Create Tour: Illustrate the News 1PM

Work together as reporters, journalists, editors, designers and illustrators to produce a newspaper of your very own! What news is important to you? Put your pen to paper and set your type to share stories about your life with one another. We will interview characters found throughout the special exhibition, New Eyes on America: The Genius of Richard Caton Woodville, to find our front page story!
Recommended for ages 6-8. One guardian per two children required.

Graduated from our pre-k program?  Join the big kids and their adults for our popular Walk, Wonder, and Create family tours! For ages 6 and up, this once-a-month 45-minute experience allows families to enjoy an interactive tour of the Walters’ collection, and then create artwork that relates to the theme of the tour.

Please note: Online pre-registration required. Spring 2013 (February-July) Program registration will be available in January: January 2 - Member registration begins; January 9 - Public registration begins. Museum members can register early for this popular series!

New Eyes on America: The Genius of Richard Caton Woodville

Painter of iconic works of American genre, Richard Caton Woodville (1825–55) led a life of paradox. His humorous characterizations of life, realistic depictions of interiors and use of narrative detail give access to a fascinating period of American and European history.
