The 30th Annual Theodore L. Low Lecture: What Can Museums Be?

The 30th Annual Theodore L. Low Lecture: What Can Museums Be?

“Culture vultures” often frequent bars and coffee shops more than museums, something that’s long inspired independent exhibit designer Nina Simon. Simon will speak about the importance of visitor participation and dynamic, audience-driven exhibitions.
Don’t miss the free pre-show interactive concert at 1 p.m. Please check for more information.
The Annual Theodore L. Low Lecture honors the memory of Theodore Low, director of education and public programs at the Walter for more than 30 years. He was one of the first art educators to acknowledge the importance of audiences and community in the life and mission of the museum.
Art, Community and Conservation Workshop
Apply to participate in Simon’s exclusive Art, Community and Conservation workshop on Sunday, November 14, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. This limited-enrollment workshop is designed for student, art educators, museum professionals and community members aiming to expand possibilities of what museums can be in the future.
